Estudio de mercado laboral con foco en la población migrante venezolana y colombianos retornados en las ciudades de Riohacha, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cúcuta, Bogotá, Barranquilla y Medellín

Abstract

The Venezuelan migrant and returnee population (PPV) is younger and more educated than the local average. These workers, who had diverse occupations in Venezuela, find their first job in the commerce sectors and elementary occupations, and only very slowly and occasionally find themselves in the sectors where they have experience. This implies large losses of human capital and reduces the potential gains from migration for the country. To face this situation, the present work identifies, at city and educational level, the sectors, and occupations with the greatest projection for the PPV. To achieve this, it uses quantitative methods such as the main components, geo-referencing and artificial intelligence with qualitative methods based on the combination of massive surveys and structural interviews. Additionally, it creates a correspondence between the classifications of the education databases and those of the labor market.
